Zimkhitha Gova is is the Founder and Executive Chairperson of the Africa Women Financial Inclusion Initiative (AWFII) and Country Head of New Faces New Voices South Africa, a flagship programme of the Graça Machel Trust. She is a strategist, systems thinker, and advocate for women’s economic empowerment, working at the intersection of financial inclusion, leadership development, and ownership-based economic transformation..

With over 20 years of experience across diversity and inclusion, business development, leadership strategy, and social impact, Zimkhitha has built platforms that connect grassroots women, financial institutions, policymakers, and capital providers to reshape how women participate in the economy. Her work focuses on moving women beyond financial access toward wealth creation, ownership, and economic agency..

Under her leadership, AWFII has convened women’s financial inclusion dialogues across South Africa, launched the Her Economy platform, and established strategic partnerships with institutions including the Graça Machel Trust, EasyEquities, Liberty, Standard Bank, and KPMG.
